BITUMINOUS UNDERSLATINGS

Ruberoid Building Products has the most comprehensive range of bituminous underslatings available in the UK today, which will meet the needs of almost any pitched roof situation.

These products are only suitable for use on Cold Roofs that have a ventilated void space.

As a Cold - Ventilated Void Roof configuration is the traditional form of pitched roof build-up these products remain popular. In these cold roof systems, any void space below the underslating membrane has to be ventilated in accordance with BS 5534:2003. In this roof type, a breather membrane or non-bituminous underslating membrane would be equally suitable.

When an underslating membrane is installed in a cold roof configuration draped over open rafters, the use of counterbattens is not required.
